Haryanvi singer was killed by associate for scolding him

Police on Saturday arrested an associate of Haryanvi folk singer Mamta Sharma, two days after her body was found with her throat slit in chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar's native village Baniyani in Rohtak.
Mohit Kumar (27) who used to assist Mamta in her stage performances and arrange private taxis for her to commute was angry on mamta after she scolded him.

During investigation, Mohit told the police that Mamta had been scolding him over trivial issues.

On January 14, Mamta scolded Mohit again for coming late to pick her up. During an altercation between the two while Mohit was driving, he took out a knife and slit Mamta's throat. She died on the spot.
