GST rate cut on 29 items and 54 categories

More 29 items and 54 categories are being considered for reducing tax rate by the GST Council at the 25th meeting on Thursday.
GST Council which is being headed by finance minister Arun Jaitley decided to make GST return filing process simpler to ease compliance burden for small businesses.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Jaitley said the next meeting of the Council may consider bringing items like crude oil, natural gas, petrol, diesel, ATF and real estate within the GST purview.
