High alert in MP and Gujarat; Bhima Koregaon violence protest

Bhima Koregaon violence in Maharashtra's Pune led to backlash from communities which suffered from the violence. The backlash has now spread to some other regions if reports are to be believed.

Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat are the fresh targets with incidents of arson and stone-pelting being reported in some parts of the two states.

High alert has been sounded in states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Government has directed the law and enforcement agencies to take preventive steps to make sure no other such incidents are reported.

On Thursday, Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur city witnessed the vandalisation of twleve busses at a bus stand and then the agitating people reached the Pushpak bus stand and began pelting stones at the vehicles there.

In Gujarat, protestors blocked roads mostly highways and Dalit group staged a protest in the Udhna locality in Surat city.
