Budget Session to start from Jan 29

New Delhi Jan 5: The Winter session of the parliament has ended and the Government has announced the dates of the budget session for 2018.Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar has said that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs recommended that the union budget would be presented on Feb 1.

The Minister added that "The Budget session of Parliament will commence from 29 January.President Ramnath Kovind will address the joint sitting of the two Houses on 29 January and the Economic Survey will be tabled on the same day."

He added that "The first phase of the session will be from 29 January to 9 February. After a recess, Parliament will meet again from 5 March to 6 April."

Currently every year the budget is presented on the last day of the February but the presented government has advanced the date by 1 month so that More funds can be utilized right from the start of the Financial year from Apr 1.
