SC :Major woman have all right to pursue her goals

New Delhi Jan 5: The Supreme court on Friday has said that a major woman has all rights to make her personal choices and Courts cant play 'Super Guardians'. A bench headed by the Cheif Justice has said that " an adult woman has an unqualified right to make free choices in her life and there cannot be any interdiction."

The CJI added that "She is entitled to enjoy her freedom as a major, she is entitled to go wherever she wants, do whatever she likes."

The bench has made the following observation after it heard a Petition filed by a woman who pressed for custody of her major daughter.She has cited that courts must order her daughter to be with her as she was willing to travel to Kuwait and live with her father.

CJI has responded and said that "an adult woman has a right of her will and that she cannot be stopped from pursuing her goals.How can you ask us to make her a victim of contempt? How can we atop her? As a major, she can go to Kuwait and live with her father if she wants."
