Bihar To participate in Ranji Trophy

New Delhi Jan 4: In a major relief for Bihar Cricket Team the Supreme Court on Thursday has allowed Bihar Cricket Association to participate in Ranji Trophy and similar other national-level cricket championships.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra has said that " Bihar, which had not been allowed to participate in national-level cricket tournaments, must play cricket."

The bench has also said that "Bihar Cricket Association, which has been elected by virtue of an apex court order, shall be in- charge of the game in the state."

Finally, the bench has said that "this order has been passed keeping in view the cause of cricket." Earlier the Bihar was banned from playing the Ranji trophy and other tournaments as it was not a full-time member of BCCI.
