Rajya Sabha Adjourned over Triple Talaq Issue

New Delhi, Jan 03: Triple Talaq Bill has passed to Rajya Sabha, In this regard, the Rajya Sabha has heated with Members.

The Rajya Sabha has heated as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley categorically told the agitating Opposition members that the Bill outlawing instant triple talaq cannot be referred to a select committee for review.

After Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tabled the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, Congress leader Anand Sharma moved a notice, saying the legislation should be sent to a select panel, and even proposed names for the committee.

The house is taken by surprise that a motion is suddenly moved, it has not been submitted a day before.
