Rajanikanth Says, I will start a new party

New Delhi, December 31: Rajinikanth has finally announced his entry into politics, ending the months-long suspense which had kept his fans, observers, politicians and fellow film stars for months.

I will come into politics. I will do my duty," the 67-year-old declared in Chennai, saying he would form a new party. "Over the past one year, the events in Tamil Nadu have put the state to shame. People are laughing," he said, adding, "If I don't make this decision now... the guilt will haunt me".

"About Lok Sabha polls, I will decide then. I am not here for money or fame, you have already given that to me a thousand times over. I am not enamored by position or post. At 45, I didn't have that, at 68 will I get that? Will I not be a mad man then? Am I not deserving of being called a spiritual?"

"I cannot do this on my own, this is like taking pearl from sea, God's grace, people's love, respect and cooperation and support, all these are needed to achieve this. I fully believe I will get god's grace and people's support."
