Hyderabad Metro rail in Old City to be delayed

Hyderabad Dec 25: The Hyderabad metro rail works are going at a brisk pace but still some parts of the Hyderabad especially the old city residents are unhappy as they believe that the metro would not be completed in their locality by November 2018.

Earlier the Metro was proposed from JBS to Faluknauma via MGBS.However, the metro was opposed by the Local MLAs and they also demanded to change the alignment because they felt that the metro would cause damage to religious and Heritage buildings located in the city.

However, the situation has changed as people have realized the importance of metro after the initial 30 KM of the operations are the commercial success.The people have already met the L&T,HMRL officials and urged them to complete the project.

The Officials have not decided on their request but sources said that the project would be not taken up in the current phase because of the cost overrun and the
L& T officials may demand additional funds from the government for the completion of the project.
