PBL 2018: Awadhe Warriors defeat Chennai Smashers in opening match

Guwahati Dec 24: The Pro Badminton League 2018 First match was held yesterday and Saina Nehwal's team Awadhe Warriors had stunned the PV Sindhu's Chennai Smashers in the opening match.

Awadhe warriors had won the men's singles and mixed doubles in the five-match duel at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium by 4-3.

Earlier Saina Nehwal pulled out of the team as she had suffered an injury. Kashyap won his singles against Daniel S Farid 15-12, 15 - 8.Kidambi Srikanth downed Frenchman Brice Leverdez 15-12, 15-14.

Christina and Tang provided an ideal start to Awadhe’s campaign by defeating English couple Chris and Gabrielle Adcock 10-15, 15-5, 15-12.

Chennai players have bagged 3 points by winning the women's singles
P.V. Sindhu has won women's singles match Sai Uttejitha Rao 15-10, 15-9.
In Men's Doubles, Chris Adcock and Lee Yang beat Hendra Setiawan and Or Chin Chung 15-11, 10-15, 15-11.
