Air India launches direct flight between Nanded and Amritsar

Chennai, Dec 23: The State-owned Air India plans to introduce a new direct flight connecting the two holy cities of Sikhs - Nanded and Amritsar - to meet the increasing consumer demand for tourists in the new year.

The flight on the Amritsar-Nanded-Amritsar route will begin operations from December 23 and will operate twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays with an A-320 neo aircraft.

Fight AI 815 will depart from Amritsar at 10:55 hrs to reach Nanded at 13:10 hrs, while the return flight AI 816 will leave Nanded at 13:50 hrs to arrive in Amritsar at 16:30 hrs.

This flight will give a boost to tourism and will also fulfill a long-standing demand of travelers, and tourists to both these historic and religious centers, Air India said in a statement.

The national carrier is also offering special return fares of Rs.7,800 plus taxes on the Amritsar-Nanded-Amritsar route.
