YSRCP MPs met Minister Nitin gadkari, discussed on Polavaram project

Vijayawada, Dec 22: The Andhra Pradesh opposition YSR Congress Party MPs team has met Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari to request him to take steps to construct the Polavaram project by 2019.

Ongole MP YV Subba Reddy said that the Polavaram project was declared as a national project and it was mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act also.

He alleged that irregularities took place in Polavaram project construction. "We would submit representation seeking the Union Minister to conduct an inquiry into the allegations and Centre should take up the construction on its own as it is a national project", he said.

He said that the YSRCP MPs would exert pressure on the Central government on granting Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. He criticised that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has no sincerity on Polavaram project.

He also lamented that the Chief Minister stating that he had failed to get the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. He pointed out that the TDP government did nothing to the people of the state in last four years.

MLCs Alla Nani, Meka Seshu Babu, YSRCP leaders Tellam Balaraju, Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Koyuye Moshen Raju, Taneti Vanita, Boddani Srinivas and others participated in the media conference.
