woman brutally raped and murdered

Hyderabad, Dec 21: Here is a brutal incident has happened, which triggered protests in the district and elsewhere, a ninth standard girl from a Dalit community was allegedly raped and murdered on Tuesday noon at Manjunath Nagar of the city.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is on a tour of the district, visited the house of the girl and announced a compensation of Rs.8.5 lakh as the protests by women's and Dalit groups intensified.

Mr. Siddaramaiah has announced that the CID would probe the incident.

The victim girl, studying in an aided school in the city, was allegedly dragged into a house in the locality by six persons and raped. She was later murdered.
