Goons with TDP leaders allegedly beat and strip dalit woman in public

Visakhapatnam, Dec 21: Some landgrabbers backed by TDP leaders tried to acquire the land given to Dalits by the government a decade ago.

The dispute led to a Dalit women being beaten up and stripped by upper caste political leaders in public in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. They even abused other Dalits and chased them away.

The incident, which happened on Tuesday evening at Jerripothulapalem village in Pendurthi block on the suburbs Visakhapatnam city, came to light on Wednesday, with the local Dalit organisations and Left party leaders lodging a complaint with the Pendurthi police and staging a demonstration demanding action against the accused.

Six persons were arrested by the police in which two are woman are from TDP , and shifted the victim to the King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam.
