2 lakh houses to be constructed in AP under PMAY

Amravati Dec 20: A good news for poor people. The Andra Pradesh Government Minister for rural housing and Information and public relations Kalava Srinivasulu said on Tuesday that "the government had accorded administrative sanction for construction of 1,86, 995 houses in the rural areas as against the target of two lakh houses sanctioned for the financial year 2017-18."

The minister held a meeting with the housing department officials at the office of AP Housing Corporation at Tadepalli in Guntur district and has reviewed the progress of the houses under construction.

The minister asked the officials to begin the groundwork for starting the construction of houses for this financial year. He has said that "that the government-sanctioned two lakh houses for the year 2016-17 and asked the officials to complete at least 80 percent works by January 2018."

Minister has added that "the government would sanction another two lakh houses for 2018-19 FY with the objective of providing housing for all under the PMAY (Prime Minister Awas Yojana) scheme".
