BJP to loose 2 Rajyasabha seats

New Delhi Dec 20: The elections of the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh were concluded and the BJP had managed o form government in Gujarat by winning 99 seats.This low margin of seats would have an impact on the Rajyasabha elections in 2018.

Sources said that BJP would lose 2 seats Rajyasabha seats from Gujarat which are crucial because the party doesn't have the majority in the upper house of parliament and crucial bills are stalled.

Currently, 36 MLA votes are required to select an RS MP and BJP has 99 MLAs which ensures that only 2 MPS that would be elected out of 4 MPs. Congress would gain 2 MP seats.Earlier it had only one MP but the Congress had won 80 MLAs which ensures that Congress had gained one MP.

Currently, NDA has 86 MPs in Rajyasabha.
