Petrol an petroleum products to be brought into GST after consesus

New Delhi Dec 19: Union Finance Minister has discussed about the issue of introducing Petroleum products into the GST Ambit.Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Rajyasabha has said that "Centre is in favor of bringing them but it would be finalized only after the consensus is evolved as the council is a combination of states and union".

He said that there is no need for amendment for the constitution to bring these under GST.He also lamented the Congress has said that "Now you are in the opposition and have a greater flexibility in changing your position,".

Earlier Bihar FM has also said that the GST council would discuss the issue and would decide at an appropriate time.
