Rajyasabha Passes Companies Ammendment Bill

New Delhi Dec 19: The Rajya Sabha on Tuesday has passed a bill to Amend the Comapanies Act 2013. The Bill was earlier passed in Loksabha in the Monsoon session.

Earlier the bill was introduced in 2016 and the bill was sent to the standing committee of Parliment and the Committee has suggested some amendments in the Act and the government has accepted the amendments.

The upper house has discussed the bill and the Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs PP Chaudhary has replied to the member's queries.Congress leader P Chidambaram has said that the party supports the bill, however, the government must answer some questions.

The bill is one of the measures of the government to ensure ease of doing business and to further improve the compliance of the companies.
