Rs 12 lakh seized in RK Nagar

Chennai Dec 17: Election Officials have seized a huge amount of cash in RK Nagar of Chennai on Saturday. Sources said that the officials have seized Rs 12.6 lakhs.

Currently, the by-poll in the Constituency would be held on Dec 21 .Earlier the EC had rejected the nominations of Actor Vishal and Deepa Kumar the niece of Former CM Jayalalitha.

Currently, DMK, AIADMK candidates, and ousted leader TTV Dinakaran are contesting in the bypoll.Earlier the by-poll was scheduled in April was called off as there were allegations that TTV Dinakaran had bribed the EC officials.

The EC officials have seized RS 20 lakhs till now from various places. The bypoll is being held after the seat fell vacant due to the demise of former CM Jayalalitha.
