Minister KTR launches Mana Nagaram Program

Hyderabad, Dec 17: The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao has launched an innovative "Mana Nagaram/Apna Shehar" programme on Saturday. The programme is aimed at ensuring that the local people participate in the development of the city.

Participating in a programme held at Quthbullapur municipal area in the city, KTR said the 'Mana Nagaram' would help in redressing the people’s grievances by bringing the administration to their doorstep.

Local leaders, people representatives, and officials will participate in the town hall meetings to be organized in the colonies every week. Officials from the GHMC, Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited will also attend the meetings.

Modernisation of drainages, drinking water supply, road network and beautification of local colonies will be given utmost priority at the meetings under 'Mana Nagaram' programme KTR gave a patient hearing to the problems brought to his notices by local people at the meeting. He assured people their grievances would be redressed in a time-bound manner.

The Minister promised that he would solve the menace of increasing industrial pollution in the Qutubullaphur Municipal area. He instructed the Industry and State Pollution Control Board to resolve the issue on a war-footing.

He stressed the need for active participation of people in keeping the city clean.
