Rakhi Sawant slams Government for banning condom ads; Aids in India

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a rather controversial directive to ban condom advertisements on television between 6am to 10pm.

But after the notice some controversy erupted, and its none other than controversy queen Rakhi Sawant who was first to raise the issue.

Rakhi who is also a brand ambassador of a condom brand expressed her displeasure.

The controversy queen also alleged that she was being personally targetted. Rakhi told the International Business Times, "The government did not censor condom ads by Sunny Leone or Bipasha Basu. But as soon as the news of Rakhi Sawant's condom ad made headlines, the government put a ban on ads between 6 am to 10 pm. Is the government scared?"

She also expressed fear that "everyone in India will get AIDS" if television channels comply with the government's directive. "Children will sleep off and they will not know what a condom is and the use of the product. Seems like the government wants Indians to get AIDS. Until children don't see the ads, how will they know about precaution? If they feel it is unsuited for television, they should edit or censor it," Rakhi said.
