Venkaiah Naidu :Telugu should be mandatory in Governance

Hyderabad Dec 16: The World Telugu Conference was Grandly Inaugurated by Vice President M Venkiah Naidu on Friday and the conference would be held for 5 days.Telangana Chief Minister KCR did Guru Vandanam of his Guru Brahmasri Veleti Mrutunjaya Sharma and took his blessings.

Governor of Telangana and AP E.S.L. Narasimhan and Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and other dignitaries were also present at the inaugural function. The dignitaries lit the lamp and inaugurated the conference.

Later fireworks were displayed that had attracted all the dignitaries and Traditional dance was also performed. Speaking on the Occasion Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has said that "the Telugu language should be encouraged in Public Service examinations and also be made a part of governance."



Naidu has added that "one should not forget their mother, motherland and mother tongue as well as their teacher and classroom. Despite technological advances and internet, they cannot be a replacement to your teacher and classroom."

He added that "Many national heads speak in their mother tongue at international summits despite knowing English. It is their respect for their mother tongue."

Finally, he lauded the efforts taken by Telangana Government to preserve the language and said that more efforts needs to be taken so that people don't forget their mother tongue.
