GE to partner with TASL in Hyderabad to manufacture LEAP engines

Hyderabad Dec 15: In a major boost to Telangana state the GE company had decided to tie up with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) based in Hyderabad for manufacturing Aircraft components.

Sources said that "GE Aviation and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) based in Hyderabad will work together in manufacturing, assembling, integration and testing of aircraft components such as CFM International LEAP engine components and jointly pursue military engine and aircraft system opportunities for the India market."

An Agreement in this regard an Agreement was signed by the both companies. Telangana Industries and IT Minister KTR has said that "The collaboration will immensely boost the aerospace sector in the State."

Currently, TASL focuses on providing integrated solutions for Aerospace, Defense, and Homeland Security and also it manufacturing partner for global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

GE currently manufactures jet engines, marine gas turbines for Indian military applications such as the Air Force Light Combat Aircraft-Tejas Mk 1, Indian Navy P-8I aircraft, and P-17 Shivalik class frigates. The company would also manufacture engines for Light Combat Aircraft-Tejas Mk 2, P-17A & P-71 ships, and the AH-64 attack helicopters.
