Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas -No role for US in peace process

Palestine Dec 14: Islamic Leaders have once again reiterated their stand on the Israel- Palestine Conflict and urged UN to declare East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas has said that "the US no longer had any role to play in the peace process."

An emergency meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)has been called on Wednesday in Istanbul by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.OIC has sought a coordinated response to the recognition by US President Donald Trump of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.



The Organization had finally declared that "East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine" and invited "all countries to recognize the State of Palestine and East Jerusalem as its occupied capital."

OIC has also declared that "Trump's is decision null and void legally and a deliberate undermining of all peace efforts that would give impetus to extremism and terrorism."

Earlier Last week US President has declared Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and hoped that this would pave a way for faster resolution of the conflict.
