YS Jagan accuses CM Naidu for being insincere towards Muslims

Kadapa, Dec 13: The Andhra Pradesh opposition YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of being insincere towards Muslims and pointed out that there was not a single Muslim in the State Cabinet to drive his point home.

Taking part in a face-to-face programme with minorities at Mudigubba crossroads in Anantapur district on Tuesday, he announced a monthly salary of Rs 10,000 to Imams and Rs 5,000 to Mouzams. Besides, he promised Rs 15,000 to each temple, church and mosque towards maintenance.

He said Chandrababu Naidu promised constitution of a fund with Rs 2,500 crore for Muslims in his election manifesto, but failed to implement it. He charged the Chief Minister with not implementing the quota for the Muslims as per the Ranganathan Commission report.

He promised interest-free loans up to Rs 1,00,000, but it remained far from implementation. Not accommodating at least one Muslim in his Cabinet shows the concern of the Chief Minister for Muslims.

Chandrababu had promised Rs 5000 per month to Imams and Rs 3000 to Mouzams a month towards salary, but the promised money was not even given to at least 10 percent of mosques, the Opposition leader pointed out.
