Woman commits Suicide over Dowry harassment

Hyderabad, Dec 12: Here is tragic incident has unveiled while a 25-yr-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house in NTR Nagar here in the early hours of Monday.

The details reported that, The deceased was identified as K. Lavanya, wife of K. Anand, a daily wage earner. They had got married in August this year. Lavanya was in her third month of pregnancy.

The incident took place at around 6.30 a.m., said police, adding that the victim's mother, Yadamma, lodged a complaint stating that Anand used to harass her physically as well as mentally demanding additional dowry.

Based on the complaint, the Chaitanyapuri police have invoked a case against Anand and are digging deeper into the case.

Lavanya's body was shifted to the Osmania General hospital for Postmortem and further probe is on.
