Jnanpith (Gyanpith) Awardees to be Fecilitated during WTC

Hyderabad Dec 12: Hyderabad city has geared up to host World Telugu Conference (WTC) and it is expected that about 8,000 delegates would attend the event scheduled to be held from December 15 to 19.

The delegates who would be attending the WTC are scores of literary, cultural and art giants from the two Telugu States.

Sources said that 'Gyanpith' awardees from 13 languages would be felicitated during the event to acknowledge their contribution to language and culture.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest and would inaugurate the conference on December 15. Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, ESL Narasimhan, would be special guests. President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest for the valedictory ceremony.

Gyanpith Awards are India's Highest Literary Awards given to authors for their "outstanding contribution towards literature".
