Mancherial railway station gets Wifi, Lift facilities soon

Mancherial, Dec 11: The Mancherial railway station, which recently secured the 5th place in the country for keeping its premises tidy, would soon provide both Wi-Fi and lift services to passengers.

The two modern facilities, meant for the convenience of railway passengers, would be launched within this week, according to authorities at the station. It would become the third station to be offering internet facility in Secunderabad division after Secunderabad and Warangal.

The station is one of four 'A' category stations of Secunderabad division and is a major destination for railway passengers in the district. It registers traffic of 5,000 incoming passengers and the same quantity of outgoing passengers a day. It sees a stoppage of 29 services per day and records income Rs 1.2 crore by operating carrier services and around Rs 24 crore by way of goods services per month.

"We are going to introduce both Wi-Fi and two lifts for passengers this week. Passengers who throng the station for reaching their destinations can use high-speed internet free of cost. Relevant technology for providing the service was installed a few days ago. The two services would formally be launched by a top officer of Indian Railways," a senior official of the station told media.
