India takes on Sri Lanka with eye on No.1 ranking

New Delhi, December 09: India may achieve the NO 1 spot in the upcoming One Day Internationals against Sri Lanka if they beat 3-0.

Now India was at No2 position having 120 points.South Africa also having 120 points in top positions, But India has to beat Sri Lanka with the 3-0 lead and gains 121 points and secures NO 1 team Again.

India will reach 121 points and edge South Africa on decimal points if they take a 1-0 lead in the series but will have to also win the following two matches in Mohali and Visakhapatnam on 13 and 17 December if they want to keep the lead since Sri Lanka are eighth on the table with 83 points and the rankings system is weighted to reflect the difference in ranking points
