Minister KTR inaugurates Oyo Technology Development Centre

Hyderabad, Dec 09: The Telangana Miniter for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao has inaugurated Oyo Technology Development Centre here on Friday.

The facility is focused on developing innovative products for customers, partners, and employees. This new Centre of Excellence for Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives will help us consolidate our technology leadership, said OYO Founder and CEO, Mr. Ritesh Agarwal on the occasion.

OYO signed a MoU with the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) to maintain, market and promote select properties under the corporation.

Additionally, strategic partnerships with NITHM and TSTDC will not only impart skilling, but also create gainful value for the industry at large." The centre will be responsible for management and development of various verticals, including holiday packages, sales technology along with products and solutions for corporate travel and travel agents", he informed. It will focus on building supply chain technology and transformation technology teams, growing to 300 engineers by 2018-end, he said.

In terms of rooms expansion, he informed that it plans to double this number from 70,000 to 1,80,000 by end of the calendar year 2018. Talking at the event, Minister said, We are aiming big on startups and innovation because as a government, we realize that the next generation of growth and employment would come from this sector.

He said, "Tourism is a priority sector for Telangana state. It generates local employment and numerous self-employment opportunities".
