CM KCR instructs officials to boost up the new NTPC power plant works

Karimnagar, Dec 09: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has visited the new NTPC power plant, coming up with 1600 MW(2x800 capacity) at Ramagundam in Karimnagar here on Friday.

Mr. Rao wanted the pace of works on the NTPC power plant at Ramagundam to be stepped up on a war footing. Enquiring about the progress with the Engineers of BHEL, the main supplier of the equipment for the 4000 MW expansion of the project, the Chief Minister urged the officials to increase the peace of the works on a war footing. Ramagundam to become Telangana's power hub, he said.

The NTPC Executive Director, D K Dhube informed the Chief Minister that the first unit of the power plan would be completed by May 2020 and the second unit thereafter within another six months.
