Israel welcomes Trumps decision

Israel Dec 7: Israel has welcomed the decision taken by US President to declare Jerusalem as its capital and said that this decision would pave way for peaceful negotiations with its counterpart.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that " it was an important step towards peace and it was our goal from Israel's first day".

PM has added that "any peace deal with the Palestinians would have to include Jerusalem as Israel's capital and he urged other countries to follow Trump's example."

Earlier Israel has captured eastern Jerusalem in 1967 war.However, Palestine has claimed the territory for a separate state.

Earlier US president Donald Trump has declared Jerusalem as the Israel capital and ordered to shift the Embassy to the new capital and hoped that his declaration would pave way for a peaceful settlement between Israel and Palestine.
