Youtube to recruit 10,000 people to block bad content

London Dec 5: In a move to ensure that bad content is blocked Video Sharing Platform Youtube has announced that it would hire 10,000 people to monitor and control violent extremism and content that endangers children.

Susan Wojcicki, Chief Executive of the Google-owned video-sharing site, said that "bad actors are exploiting YouTube to mislead, manipulate, harass or even harm.We will continue the growth of our teams, with the goal of bringing the total number of people across Google working to address content that might violate our policies to over 10,000 in 2018."

This move comes ahead of allegations on Major digital and social media platforms that they behave become agents for promoting extreme violence and unsafe content for children.

Youtube has also said that "While some of these videos may be suitable for adults, others are completely unacceptable, so we are working to remove them from YouTube.We have terminated 50 channels and removed thousands of videos as also advertisements from 5,00,000 exploitive videos under the current set of guidelines."

Youtube has also launched Youtube kids with content friendly for children which would help them understand various techniques which would improve in children's education .
