EESL reduces the price of Ceiling Fans

Mumbai Dec 4: In a move to pass o benefits of GST to customers The government-owned Energy Efficiency Services Ltd has reduced the prices. The company has said that "it has slashed the price of ceiling fans to Rs 1,110 per unit from Rs 1,200 under Ujala scheme due to revision in goods and services tax (GST) rates."

The GST slab for fans was reduced from 28 percent to
18 percent, thus 50 Watt fans will now be available at Rs 1,110 only" the company added.

However, the company has not reduced the prices of LED Bulbs and 9W LED bulbs and 20W LED tube light at Rs 70 and Rs 220 respectively.The Ujala Scheme was launched to ensure all households get an Led bulb.

Earlier the GST council has reduced the tax rates of 178 items to 18 % from 28 % and urged the companies to pass on the benefits to the customers.
