Rahul Gandhi darling of Congress says Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, December 04: Former prime minister Manmohan Singh has said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is the "darling" of the party here on Monday.

"It's a great day. Rahul has been the darling of the Congressmen and Congress women and this is yet another step in his devotion to the Congress party and country," Manmohan Singh said.

Today, Rahul Gandhi signed a set of nominations in the presence of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior party leaders Kamal Nath, Motilal Vora, Sheila Dikshit, Ahmed Patel and Ashok Gehlot.

He also said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi has served the party for over 19 years.

"So it will be yet another chapter for the party and Rahul Gandhi will carry on the great traditions of taking the party forward," Singh added.
