12 members injured in clashes in Jodhpur

Jodhpur Dec 02: A petty issue led to clash between two communities in Soorsanagar area in Jodhpur.

Tension prevailed after two youth got into argument which later led to involvement of two communities. Atleast 12 people were injured in the clashes, vehicles were burnt and stones were hurled.

Members of one group also targeted houses of people belonging to the other community, police said.

"The injured people have been hospitalised. None of the groups has so far approached police in connection with the incident," police commissioner Ashok Rathore said.

The market in the locality remained shut on Saturday due to tension in the area. Rathore claimed there was peace and no restrictions were in force in the area.
