Infosys appoints Salil S Parekh as CEO and MD

Mumbai Dec 2: Infosys on Saturday has announced that Salil S Parekh would be appointed as chief executive officer CEO and Managing director MD. The appointment will be effective from January 2, 2018.He would replace U B Pravin Rao, who was appointed as company's interim CEO and managing director in August.

Earlier Vishal Sikka has resigned as CEO and MD of the IT firm and it has created ripples among the corporate industry and many people have said that Sikka has resigned because of his internal rift with Narayanamurthy the founder.

Nandan Nilekani, chairman of the Infosys board, said, "We are delighted to have Salil joining as the CEO & MD of Infosys. He has nearly three decades of global experience in the IT services industry. He has a strong track record of executing business turnarounds and managing very successful acquisitions."
