Nissan Company sent legal notices to PM Modi

Tokyo DEC 1: In a move to settle a legal dispute an International Company has sent notices to PM Modi. Sources said that "Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has begun international arbitration against India to seek more than $770 million in a dispute over unpaid state incentives".

Officials have said that "In a legal notice sent to PM last year, Nissan sought payment of incentives due from the Tamil Nadu government as part of a 2008 agreement to set up a car manufacturing plant in the southern state."

Sources said that the company has sent legal notices to the government of India as the Tamilnadu government failed to pay the incentives and has not responded to the notices sent by the company.

currently, there are 20 cases pending against India, among the highest against any single nation.
