Atleast 5,961 civilians killed by US air strikes in Iraq and Syria

Baghdad Nov 30: US led coalition released a report in which it was mentioned that atleast 800 civilians have been killed in air strikes in Iraq and Syria by the U.S led coalition. The US led coalition was fighting against Islamic State since the campaign began in 2014.

The estimate provided by the coalition was far lower than the actual figures provided by the monitoring groups.

According to monitering group Airwars between August 2014 to october 2017 a total of atleast 5,961 civilians have been killed by coalition air strikes.

"We continue to hold ourselves accountable for actions that may have caused unintentional injury or death to civilians," the coalition said in its report.
