French Government to Participate in Semi High-speed Rail projects

New Delhi Nov 27: The Indian railways in a move to reduce the time travel of trains has proposed to introduce semi-High speed rail as a part of this speed of the trains in selected corridors would be upgraded to 200 KMPH.

The French government has already conducted a feasibility report on Delhi-Chandigarh corridor and the report would be published soon.The report states that nearly Rs 11,000 would be needed to upgrade the speed of the trains in the 245 Km route.

The money would be spent for upgradation of signals upgrade, main civil works, and rolling stock etc. The report has also suggested
re-alignment of 37 Km in the route as there were curves in the present route.

The report has also said that there is no additional land would be acquired in realignment as the land would be acquired through
The right of way.

Sources said that India and French would jointly develop the project and agreement would be signed next year.

The French government is also interested to build semi high-speed corridors in some of the proposed routes include 4000 KM of
