Charminar is under the custody of ASI

HYDERABAD, Nov 25 : The 420-year old historic building Charminar was at present in the custody of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The ASI following the Archaeological Monuments and Ancient Sites and Remains(AMASR) ACT it protects and regulats the construction activity related to the distance from the site.
The archaeology department noticed the construction activities are going on in the prohibited zone with in 200 metre, this incident came to lime light on Thursday. The building which is in under construction is on the west of Gulzar Houz, towards the Sehr-e-Baatil Kamaan.
The sources of ASI, the construction building details like property number and owner's name will be obtained by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Once if the details are received by the GHMC a a showcause notice will be sent to the property owner.
And to the another unauthorised construction belongs to M A Hafeez the ASI has already sent the notice,his building is situated to the east of charminar. The ASI has also sent notices to another two ununauthorised construction also. But no response is coming from the notice holders said V Gopala Rao, Charminar conservation assistant.
