Indias telecom problems-losers exit business

Mumbai Nov 26: The entry of Reliance Jio in telecom sector last year has created a disruption and it has led to intense competition, consolidation,mergers, and exit of some operators.

Videocon: The company has exited the telecom industry from Feb 2017 and urged the customers in Punjab circle to migrate to other.

Docomo: The company has decided to exit the business in 2014, however, the exit was stalled due to dispute in Sept/oct 2017
Tata Teleservices has paid $1.27 billion (144.9 billion yen) to NTT DoCoMo and the company has exited the business.

Tata Teleservices: The company has decided to sell its mobile consumer business to Airtel as a part of debt restructuring and the Company would pay major spectrum charges.

Aircel: The telecom operator is in deep trouble as its merger deal with RCOM has been called and the company has sold its spectrum in some circles and currently the Aircel-maxis deal is being investigated.

R-Com: The company has announced the exit of 2G and 3G services and there are reports that the company may also offer its 4G spectrum for sale and this would ensure the company would exit the telecom business.

Telenor: The company has decided to exit the business and it was sold to Airtel .
