US deeply concerned on release of Hafiz Saeed; Asks Pak to take action

US Nov 24: Release of Pakistani Islamist Hafiz Saeed, accused of masterminding 2008 Mumbai attack shocked US. On Friday, US officials said that Washington is "deeply concerned" at the release of Hafiz Saeed.

US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Saeed's organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba, was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including American citizens.

"The Pakistani government should make sure that he is arrested and charged for his crimes," Nauert said in a statement.



Saeed lived freely even after US declaring him terrorist and a keeping a bounty of $10 million for him.

Saeed even tried to enter politics and has addresses several rallies.
