Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar says no ban on Padmavati release

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that he will take a decision on the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Padmavati in his state only after the Central Board of Film Certification’s decision.

Khattar has said that banning the film before the censor board's decision was not right.

"We will take a decision on Padmavati only after censor board clearance. We will not allow anyone's sentiments to be hurt. We don't think it is right to ban (a film) before censor board’s decision," Khattar said while addressing the media on Wednesday.

Khattar's stand is different from the many chief ministers who have raised objections to the release of Padmavati. His Bharatiya Janata Party colleague and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had earlier this week said that he won't allow the release of Padmavati, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, in the state.
