MP, UP bans Padmavati, West Bengal, Kamal Haasan supports it

India Nov 22: Padmavati was banned in Madhya Pradesh, and the protest reached West Bengal.

In Kolkata, members of Bharat Kshatriya Samaj vowed to prevent the release of the movie but Trinamool Congress made it clear that any violence in the name of protest will not be tolerated and the movie will not be banned in West Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee supported freedom to express and condemned the attacks and super emergency saying that a calculated political plan is being made.

While, West Bengal Mamata supported freedom of speech, UP chief Minister Yogi Adutyanath slammed Bhansali in an interview and said that Bhansali himself invited trouble by making the movie. He said that the ban would continue in MP and asked filmmaker to respect it.

Actor Kamal Haasan tweeted in solidarity with Deepika Padukone. “Extremism in any debate is deplorable. Wake up cerebral India.Time to think. We’ve said enough. Listen Ma Bharat,” he wrote.
