Kashmir setup 24x7 Winter Control Rooms

Srinagar, Nov 18: The Kashmir divisional authorities have set up 24x7 Winter Control Rooms (WCRs) for the people for seeking any assistance during the winter months in the valley.

An official spokesman Friday evening said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Friday took stock of the availability of essential commodities and fuel in Kashmir division.

He reviewed the working of the winter CRs and directed that the control rooms should be operational 24x7 in the valley.

He visited the bottling plant at Pampore, where he directed the company representatives of different gas agencies to keep sufficient stock of the LPG cylinders. He was informed that the companies have more than 20 days of LPG stock available to them or in transit.

Mr Khan directed the Inspector General (IG) Traffic and communicated with Deputy Commissioners of Udhampur and Ramban to ensure that all trucks carrying fuel and LPG are allowed to move on priority basis.

He also inspected the Food Corporation of India (FCI) Godown at Lethpora, where he was informed that the Godown is stocked with sufficient rice and wheat requirement in the division.

He directed the officials to ensure that people do not suffer from any shortage.

Mr Khan also visited the Sub-District Hospital Pampore and took stock of the facilities available at the hospital.

He also interacted with the patients to know the availability of doctors, medicines and other facilities.
