AP CM Naidu urges Singapore Govt to setup district cooling System in Amaravati

Amaravathi, Nov 18: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked a Singapore delegation led by minister for trade & Industry S Iswaran to take steps to operate direct flights to Singapore from Vijayawada and also ensure that Singapore Prime Minister visits Amaravati.

Mr. Naidu held Joint Implementation Steering Committee (JISC) meeting with the Singapore delegation at the Secretariat on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu asked the Singapore minister to ensure that the Singapore Prime Minister, who would be the chief guest at the Republic Day function in India, visit Amaravati.

The Singapore delegates invited AP CM to participate at the Industrial partnership summit to be held during July 2018 in Singapore.

Mr. Naidu said Singapore is forwarding in development and Andhra Pradesh is trying to emulate it. He reiterated that Andhra Pradesh state would remain an ally to Singapore forever.
Andhra Pradesh would take the advice of Centre for Livable cities in the construction of Amaravati, the CM made it clear.

Mr.Naidu told the Singapore Minister that AP was going introduce 1500 electrical vehicles in the capital city.

The leaders discussed the progress of the decisions, taken during the first JISC meeting.

The Chief Minister asked the Singapore government to operate three flight services between Vijayawada-Singapore.

He asked Singapore district Cooling system Managing Director Jimmy Khoon to set up such cooling system in Amaravati.

Mr. Jimmy said for the first time in the world, the district cooling system was set up in Singapore to reduce temperatures naturally.

The Chief Minister requested the Singapore government to hold the summit in AP the future.

Minister Y Ramakrishunudu, P Narayana, Nara Lokesh, Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra Communication advisor to AP government Parakala Prabhakar and other officials were present.

Earlier, the Singapore delegation watched the Secretariat and Legislative Assembly complexes and complimented the Chief Minister for constructing in a short span of time.
