Anti-Pakistan protests held across Gilgit Baltistan

Gilgit Nov 18: The people present in Gilgit and Baltistan have held a massive protest against the Pakistan government for imposing illegal taxation.The economic activities were halted as all small and big businesses shut down indefinitely.

Business community has said that " Pakistan is imposing unfair and undue taxes on the impoverished people and poor traders of the occupied territory."

The protestors have addressed the gathering and made speeches such as "Will you pay taxes to Pakistan on chickens kept in your households? Will you pay taxes on cow kept at your house for milk?"



They have also said that "Taxes are imposed on additional family members, if you have more than five family members, an additional tax needs to be paid."

Finally, the traders have said "We will not pay taxes," and have decided to shut the shops until the taxes imposed are removed.

Sources said that the government has not yet responded to there issues and the protests are likely to continue.
