Airbus sells 430 Aircrafts to Indigo Partners

Dubai Nov 16: In a major boost for passengers, Airbus on Wednesday has announced that it would sell 430 aircrafts to US firm Indigo Partners for USD 49.5 billion.

Under the deal announced 273 A320neos (USD 108.4 million apiece) and 157 A321neos (USD 127 million apiece) would be sold.

The aircraft purchased would be utilized by various airline services such as Frontier Airlines, JetSMART of Chile, Volaris of Mexico and Wizz Air of Hungary.



Indigo Partners is a Phoenix-based private equity firm and it owns Frontier Airlines and owns part of Mexico's Volaris. IndiGo and Indigo Partners are separate firms with separate management.

sources said that It would be a big boost to Airbus because earlier the sale of other aircrafts have not gone well and the company had to reduce its production and this deal would help the company to re-establish itself so that more such deals happen in the future.
