TS opposition stages walkout over promising 1.12 lakh jobs

Hyderabad, Nov 15: The Telangana opposition parties Congress, BJP, TDP and CPM members staged a walkout from the State Legislative Assembly on Tuesday protesting against what they called the failure of the government in fulfilling its promise on jobs to unemployed youths.

The opposition members including K Laxman (BJP), Rammohan Reddy (Congress), S Venkata Veeraiah (TDP) and Sunam Rajaiah (CPM) who all took part in the short discussion on 'filling vacancies in government departments and unemployment issue', demanded that the government issue a calendar indicating its year-long plans for the recruitment process.

The House witnessed heated exchanges on the issue. Both Minister for Finance Etela Rajender and Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao strongly defended the stand of the government on its commitment to give 1.12 lakh jobs.
